I read somewhere (this is code for “I wasted time on LifeHacker again”) to make new year’s predictions rather than resolutions. I sort of liked that – but I never make New Year’s Resolutions. I usually do that around my birthday.
So, I’ve been thinking about it and one of my predictions was that I’d reduce the buying # of self-help books to five and reduce the number of weight loss/management/diet books to zero.
Um, I’m a self-help junkie, so how on earth will I make this prediction come true?
Today, I took a step in the right direction. I gave myself the gift of some time on Amazon’s website ‘fixing’ my recommendations. I eliminated all diet books and any self-help book that hinted that I needed fixing. I don’t need fixing and I’m not going to pay any more money to people who say I do.
So that was my gift to myself today.
