Embracing Buying Nothing (well, less than planned)

Ran across Leo Babauta’s Challenge: Buy Nothing Until 2013 yesterday, after I had a mini-spree in the yarn store and it hit me that I should try to embrace this challenge.  I think it will help me get over this “I’m on a money diet” feeling I get when thinking about the possible loss of most of our income in a few months.  It’s a feeling of panic, desperation, and resentment.  I tend to spend more in December than any other month – not necessarily buying gifts, but taking advantage of sales to purchase items I’ve put off buying because the prices were too high.  So yeah, lots of resentment is festering and I’d like to let it just flow through me and accept it.

I will have a few exceptions to the challenge – 1) DH’s Christmas present, 2) my parents’ presents.  I think that’s it.
